If it's not screwing up when you test it, don't worry about it.
I know folks that ride with bad BAS and rarely trip it.
If it trips you just reach down and turn off the key and turn it back on. You can even do this while rolling but you will get an exhaust ignition bang when you do this but you can keep rolling or just pull over and do it. But the recall is a one time fix for the earliest years only. As was mentioned, call the dealer service dept and have them check the VIN.
