1996 Goldwing

I have a friend who is in the market for a touring bike and has found a '96 Goldwing locally for sale. I don't know the particulars except the mileage which is around 30,000 miles and it's been well maintained and looks good. He's asking $8,500. I told my friend that I thought that was a little pricy, but I really have no idea what a reasonable price for a nice, low mileage '96 should be. I told him to check NADA, Kelley Blue Book andother available sources, but other than that, I'm clueless.

I know, I know...it's worth what someone is willing to pay, but what do y'all think is fair. This guy isn't made of money.

Any advice I could give him?

Thanks,

DW :18white:

I'd say that is a touch pricey.

Donny, before the economic crunch, I have seen them in the $7,500 range.

I have seen prices drop due to losing jobs etc. around $6,000 now. Hope this helps!

I've seen a couple go for $5,000 in the last month too.
Mortgage payments are more important than bikes now.

Thanks guys. I'll pass it along.

Ibought a 97 SE [19k miles] with CB & many extras, including a hitch, and paid way less than that ... 2 years ago.

Prices are creeping back up on used wings as new bike buyers are cutting back.

A 96 "SE" with 31k miles in 95% condition should be around $6500. - $7000.with a hitch, CB, Compufire/AGM, backrest, highway boards, etc., ... I would think.

I paid just under $7500 for my 95 1500 SE with 6400 miles on it in Feb. of 08. I think that price is a little high.

$8,500 for a '96 is definitely over priced in "My Book"... get it??? Not Kelley Blue Book but "My Book"... :cheeky1:

I just bought a '95 SE w/60k miles for $5,500. But then I had to replace the front tire... ;)

I would keep looking unless he has money to burn... or a good negotiator...
