Go to home Depot, in the tool section they have a small kit to remove screws (black box w/3 bits @$20)
They are hex drive and have a reverse drill bit on one end and an easyout on the other end. Use this in an impact driver /drill with impact setting.
If you run into a stuck screw again, use a hand driven impact driver to brake it loose.
