Chatting with the owner of the local Honda store today, the subject of the Fury came up. He said he's sold 14 to date but what was holding their head above water in these tough times, not surprisingly, is the used bike market.
What he said next was a little surprising. He said for 2010, Honda would be introducing an "Interstate and Sabre" model spinoff of the Fury, using the Fury's powerplant. The Interstate will be a touring bagger, the Sabre another cruiser. He mentioned a third Fury spinoff in the 2010 lineup, but its name escapes me.
I wondered aloud whether the Fury 1300's might not injure the current VTX 1300 series market share, and he said he was pretty sure the VTX1300 and variants would be phased out in favor of the Fury lineup, citing the stronger performance and better economy of the Fury powerplant over the current VTX mill. I didn't ask about $$.
