Have a question - not been able to find a solution yet - maybe one of you can help!
My 2012 Goldwing has a built in Garmin GPS. I want to be able to plan trips on my computer, and then transfer them to the bike, which is done on a micro SD card. Honda tells me that I have to use the Honda Trip Planner software (free on line). I have tried it, and it does work, but it has very limited options and capabilities on it.
I would like to use Garmin's Base Camp which is a fantastic product, but here is the problem: You have to first load Base Camp with a map (purchased), and the only way to unlock the map is to plug your GPS into the computer - they do this so that it registers with a Garmin product, and the map will then only work with the one GPS that it is registered to!
Given that you cannot plug in the Wing's built in GPS to the computer, here is my question: how can I load and unlock a map (US & Canada City Wide) on base camp without connecting it to a GPS, as I believe that once that is done it should be possible to send the route to the Goldwing on a micro SD card.
Suggestions on how to get around this problem would be appreciated by not only me, but everybody who has the built in GPS on their Goldwing!
Thanks.
