I LOVE stories like this. Simple as it may be. Someone riding far too far away to get something ( like coffee ) or get something done. Only motorcycle riders do this. People wouldn't even THINK of traveling in a car the way we do for even the most mundane things.

It's great !! LIke the saying goes, "if I have to explain it, you won't understand."

I just did the figuring. I averaged 30mpg running 65-70 pulling the trailer. Trailer is very aeroresistant. It's a box so it's like pulling a wall down the road.

Considering I'm also running the CI single carb system, and have a habit of very hard starts, I don't think that was too bad. Pretty darn good in fact if you ask me.

The Po said his best average with it was 27mpg. So far 27 mpg has been about the worst I've gotten out of it. The best was 37mpg.

Yeah I think the old war horse does alright.

hey Broke! You have any troubles sync'ing that carb lately :cheeky1:

Ya know John the darn thing just will not balance across all four cylinders. I can't figure it out man, for some reason the cylinders will only fire one at a time, I can't get all four to fire simultaneously to save my life.

It does idle and run just fine though so I decided all this talk about synchronizing was just a bunch of hooey.

The Wife & I and another Winger are getting ready (If the plans don't change again) to head down to Gatlinburg in the morning, about a 250 mile trip, but were gonna try a different route so it will be around the 300 mile.

It's the first decent mile trip for the other couple so I will have to remind myself to stop often......
Last year I only stopped once and I got fussed at by the Wife, that was her longest trip......what was I thinkin...
