Greetings all...I got distracted while cleaning the connectors & connections on this bike... I have a wire, not SURE where it goes, and hoping a sharp/experienced eye may be able to get me back on the target. I am going to attempt loading some pics to aid in resolving this...

Is there a seperate technique for getting pictures from an android phone onto this site? So far, I am having no success...sorry...thanks for reading this....I"ll keep trying?

My phone doesn't play with this site either! I can load on other sites but not here.

What is your question on the 77??? Fill in the gaps please.
Greeetings New....I guess I started this post too soon....I am back attempting to get a full season of riding....I spent two days cleaning EVERY connector & electrical connection on the bike, in advance of checking all the systems for "gremlins".....last area, last wire....I got distracted and forgot where I took it from:sadguy:.....now I want to load some pics and see if someone has seen the set-up I have and point me to where the wire should go....that's it......:?.....i've blown a day farting around with this technology stuff, but I'm hoping this will put me ahead in the long-run......at the very least......I won't burn-up my bike:shock:.....thanks for reading this:waving:

I have a '77 I've had down to the bare frame. Even without the pics, give us a color and which end of the beast it's at.

Well Shadow...the bike is red... i have some crazy light wiring add-ons... otherwise(far as i can tell, so far)the wiring appears to match the book...

i can't remember if the wire was a jump from the solenoid to the rectangular piece(resistor?, fuse replacement?,regulator?), and THEN to the battery, or vise-versa, and then to the battery:?.

i'm a little out of sequence on the answers....just trying to save space on this VERY VALUABLE and ENJOYABLE forum....hats off to Steve and the team:bow:.

Kind of hard to see but it looks like you need to connect your + battery cable to the left side of the starter relay, the red wire curving to the left to the left side of that circuit breaker with the other red wire, and I'm not sure what those 2 terminals in the center are.
Thanks Dave....I am not at home....now that the upload puzzle is solved, i believe i will go back and attempt some clearer pics...along with some kind of wire color guide of what is going to EACH piece...just in case i miss placed one of the other wires while i'm at it...tooo far along to screw-up now;)...and thank-you again.

Forgot to add... the thing in the center is rectangular, and was mounted with the "relay" in a rubber boot type thing....this bike does not have a 'dog-bone' type fuse....i'm guessing it is the replacement for that piece... that's why i'm thinking a wire-color guide might be valuable in helping to solve this...and the actual battery 'box' has been removed for stripping and re-painting:waving:

If you are talking about the black wire you laid across the wiring schematic, that's your original battery cable that went between the positive battery post and the starter solenoid.
I think the problem is all that extra wiring octopus you have in there makes it hard to understand.
Cut back the electrical tape on your mystery wire to see if it is a wire, or a cable.
THANK YOU , THANK YOU .... I was betting someone here would recognise the piece:claps:...

AND.... MY APOLOGIES TO ALL WHO CONTRIBUTED ... been a "mixed bag" month .... sequester got me.... funds are STILL messed up .... But/AND.... I may have found a QUITE unique "barn(parking lot;);))" find ... i.e. CB1000c w/ slightly over 5k on gauge!! ..... no key or papers though:? .... owner deceased ... property manager and property owner wanted it GONE ... it's amazing what you can do with a dremel, a cutting-wheel , A LOT of extention cords, AND PERMISSION;) .... here's to hoping.....:? ... thanks again all
