Did you make sure the jets went back in correctly and didn't get mixed up? Also, did you check for vacuum leaks in the lines? What about float heights? Did you measure those? Jets shouldn't necessarily need replacing, but the they need to be meticulously cleaned. Did you also clean the vacuum pistons on the tops?

I would think you would have replaced the o-rings/gaskets for sure. I would bet this is part of the problem. Also, the o-rings around the idle mixture screws could be the problem, since it's in the idle circuit.

I have a  78. These bikes require truly properly set up carbs to run. Mine are so problematic, i'm going to replace them.
