Hi there, this is my first post on here so please be patient with me.
I have a 1978 Gl 1000 that has been imported from america.
It seems to have been stood for about 15 to 20 years, judging by the state of the carbs.
The problem i have is that the rear shocks, S and W mk3 air shocks, are not seeming to offer any springing.
The bike will raise and lower if i adjust pressure but when i ride the bike and then pull up, the rear shocks have just closed right up making the bike sit very low on the rear.
It will raise up very slowly when left.
Are the shocks knackered or is there something i can do.

Welcome to the forum Greg. Get yourself another set of shocks. I don't think rebuild kits and seals are even available for those S&W's any more. Pity as they were better than the OEM shocks.

...can they be rebuilt?

I run the same shocks, and it rides like a rigid with no air in them.

Who was it, Gabriel, Monroe, ...same exact shock they used on cars but in a casing for the GL.
