I had to replace the head on the right side - that is a long story. Things have been going along well and I just got the timing belts on. I was careful to line up the T1 mark and the cam pulleys, and I am confident that is good. Here is my issue. I was trying to adjust the valve clearance on Cylinder 1, and it cannot be adjusted at either the T1 or T2 position. Turning the adjusting screw compresses the spring or releases it. There is a mark between T1 and T2, and at that mark, the clearance can be adjusted. T2 is the correct position for cylinders 2 and 4.

Please help me understand what this means and what I need to do so I can get this thing finished and get back on the road.

Thanks!
