So my brother is talking to a guy about buying a 79 1500 gw. Only 900 bucks. Is there such a thing and what should I talk to the guy about. What questions should we ask other than the normal ones like timing belts and whatnot. He knows nothing about goldwings so he wants me to Ho with him. Thanks.

The 1500 series first started in 1988.
So, maybe it is a typo and is a 1989.

or, they have the model wrong and it really is a 1979 but not a 1500.

For $900 it is most likely a '79 GL1000. MIGHT be worth it if it is in really good condition, but if it's trashed, it's a parts bike if it still has most of it's parts in usable condition. Otherwise it is a boat anchor. Would like to see a picture.

I will see what I can do for a pic. Could they have swapped motors? I didn't think it sounded right bit thought it may be worth checking out.
