In the interest of better (faster, stronger) performance, I'm considering changing out my stock '79 cams for "hotter" ones, off a '75 or '76...
I'm currently running GL1100 carbs with my stock '79 cam,,,she runs quite well, but I'm never satisfied, always want mo' power...(to Hell with the E.P.A. & their emissions limits!)
Anyone done this swap, any suggestions or warnings..?
Thanx, Carsh

I'm running a 75 with 75 carbs and 79 cams? Have to check again. I didn't notice a difference between the 75 and 79 cams really, though the 75's had over 100,000 miles on them. The 1100 cams are somewhere between the 75 and 78 cams in intake cam lobe heights, duration, etc. but add 11 thou to the intake valve lift. If it were me (when) I'd look at that swap, or go aftermarket.
