I have a 1981 Honda GL1100 and want to paint parts of the engine different than most and want feedback on how it looks.

I want to paint the carb boot tubes on each side black and also the valve covers black.

Here is a pic I photoshopped to give a visual representation.

Thoughts...

As long as it is a powder coat black chrome or high gloss I think it wold look good. I like contrast.

BTW welcome to the forum. Stop by and introduce yourself. Very nice bunch of folks here with lots of good info.

I always thought it would be cool to match the pinstripe color, I just don't have time to paint (too busy riding!)

I think black crackle paint would look good.

I have a set of black wrinkle belt covers, valve covers, and intake tubes that were on my 76. it looked good, but I didn't like it. and its hard to make it stick, you need basically junk parts and sand them rough, and then use an etching primer.

It needs some accent. Maybe the chrome boltheads would be enough, but I'd also like the logo to stand out.
There were some pics circulating of a 1000 that was blacked out with yellow accents. It was stunning.
Anyway, welcome to the forum.
