ive noticed that i have been getting some kind of brown fluid spray on the back tire and rim. it seems to be getting worse. i looked in the haynes and nothing. i know its the gear oil in the rear pig but how is it leaking and how do i fix it. i hope my summer is not over.:leprechaun: thanks everyone

Sure it's not brake fluid from the rear caliper?

It shouldn't be difficult tofind outwhat's leaking, if it's gear oil it will have a strong sulphur smell. There are several seals in the final drive along with a couple O-rings. Two large oil seals on a threaded ring and at least two o-rings in the driven flange and wheel. Look at the micro fiche at Honda Direct Line or Motogrid to see them. It's not a difficult job to replace the seals and doesn't take specialized tools.
