82 AM/FM Radio

82 Aspencade AM/FM radio speaker on the left side is very low volume but when I touched a new ground wire to it the volume went up to the same as the right side then I took the extra ground wire off and the left speaker still worked but when I turn the radio off then on I was back to the same problem. I have put new speakers in and it made no differance so now do any of you know what it may be? Ken

Could be corroded connector on that speaker ground wire. Trace wires in fairing, or just re attach the extra ground.
