:coollep:Am trying to find a speedo for my 82 Asppy and have been told that there is something wired into the speedo for the self canceling turn signals, thought all that stuff was under the false tank and on the front forks:? Anyone heard of this :?just inquiring so that I don't buy the wrong one.

Thanks Winger 82:11brown:

The short answer is you will need to ensure your replacement came from an '82 or '83.
:coollep:Thanks for the help, knew about the suspension light in the tach but did not realize the speedo had anything to do with the canceling unit

:coollep:Silicon Sam Thanks; all this info I'm getting is being stored. When I read about the speedo being wire to the cancel unit I was really confused just for the reason I can turn on the turn signal at a stop and without moving forward cancel them by turning the bars or a slight tip of the bike. Don't know if they should work like that being stopped but they do. :?

Thanks again

The speedo wire is so when you put your turn signals on on the freeway, change lanes they cancel after X number of feet. Since you won't be turning at all, just leaning a little. Also keeps the old codgers from driving 35 miles with their blinkers on.

From what I understand, there are 3 things that cancel the turn signals. Distance, turning the bars, or leaning the bike over. That's what I recall anyway.
