82 GL1100 Aspencade speedometer issue

Does anyone have an idea why our 82 GL1100 Aspencade is showing too fast of a speed on the speedometer? For example, it will show that we are going like 80 MPH when on a highway and cars will be passing right by us. The previous owner said it was about 10 MPH too fast but it seems to be more than that. Thanks for any input anyone has to share!

It could be that the speedo or parts (wheel, tire, speedometer drive) were off an earlier 1100 with a 19" front wheel.
