Rebuilding an 83 I have run into a problem

Turn the key and the dash lights up, push the start button and get nothing

Fearing is off, solenoid has good dog bone fuse and I know it worked on the parts bike, starter button was cleaned, fusesare newand all of the wires look to be in place

What am I overlooking :(

I have the carbs off and just got the breaks working, the bike is bare bones

Does the neutral light come on? Have you tried pulling in the clutch?

Well Sweet Pee started after I pulled in the clutch :Dand hit her with starting fluid 2 - 3 times to get the gas where it needed to be :banana:

I found Sweet Pee under a lean to in North Carolina, she had been sitting for over ten years and had been the urinal for what I figure must have been a hundred cats hence the nameSweet Pee :blushing:

Best of all the bike is charging as it should :jumper:

I was suprised because of all the extra lights and chromecrap that was on the bike madeit weigh a ton and look cheeezy:doh:

A couple more days and :action::action::action:

Good seal, now you will have to figure out why it's not getting ground from the neutral switch.

The bike has the radio, tape and CB in the fairing not counting the seven toggle switches I removed that lit the bike up like an Xmas tree

I pulled a bird nest of wire out of Sweet Pee after I disconnecteda hundred lights or more

Finding one loose ground, well ;)

Step, by step, inch by inch :cooldevil:

Ha, sounds like my 'backyard find'. 6 years in a pasture under a tarp, rats made a nest under the seat.
The guy warned me..."be careful with that bike, it weighs 1100 pounds!" Mmm hmm, ok.
