Just above the fuse box there is a single wire that has been cut

What should have been grounded there?

Probably for an accessory the PO decided to keep and took off before the sell.

Ditto,

The frame ground is a green wire under the right front coil bolt.

Could be either the muffler bearing monitor or the power band adjuster.

The bike had about 30 lights on it :gunhead:7 toggle switches :?

and every aftermarket chrome thing made for the year stuck on it & after sitting had rusted or the glue gotso hot the stuff was just a mess :barfer:

I have the running lights, brake lights & head light working, horns work, fuel gauge, and dash seem to be ok

Neutral light ground at the switch (lower part)must be corroded, I can straight wire the pump and get life but nothing when wired rite, no turn signals or blink-blink sound at one point I had it but it got tired ? ? ? ? or lost ground

Not gonna mess with the bird nest that is radio, tape CB mess in the fairring, I do not know how to turn the thing on :gunhead:

I'm getting the bike together to swap it,the guy understands it will be a project but I'm trying to get the majority of the stuff done. I have a week or so, in no hurry trying to do it rite

I would have thought it was for the coffee maker:baffled::blackstuff:

SC, you may want to track down most of the wiring and and run one large ground to the frame. Make sure there is good connection and no paint or rust at that point. Me and a buddy of mine had an 83 Aspy we bought and pulled a mile of wiring out of it that went nowhere.None of the rear lights worked until we rewired most of the bike. We never could figure out what the guy was trying to do. Good luck!

Sounds like mine....PO had every aftermarket piece of chrome, day drivers, bumbers, side lights, etc. I literally pulled a hundred lbs of bling and lights as well as probably 20lbs of wiring.

Still have some weirdness with the blinkers...........there's an unmarked black box about 3 x 5 inches under the seat. All the factory lighting is unplugged from the OEM harness and plugged into this box. The box then plugs into the OEM harness. Not sure what it does......but haven't had the time to rewire according to the OEM diagram.
