I finally got my "83 to start, run, and idle...BUT... when I give it gas slowly, all is fine up to 2000 rpm, then as soon as I exceed 2000 rpm the motor will start to run poorly and backfire out the exhaust. It will also throw flame out the right side tailpipe. I have an idea what it is but I would like to hear from others on this.
What are you complaining about? Flames coming out of your exhaust is cool, right? I mean, most people have to PAINT flames on!

Reckon something is a bit rich or something else isn't burning fuel. Have those carbs been synchonized and the pilot screws set right? Confident all the floats are set right and the intake (needle) valves are doing they're job properly. The only good thing we've got going for us is that there are only SO many things that can be a problem, right?
