I rebuilt Bobo's carbs last summer and am finally getting around to putting them back on. I'm pretty sure I can figure out where to hook on the fuel line, throttle and choke cables, but forget how/where other hoses connect. Is there photo or diagram available here to show the breather hookup and any vacuum lines?

Thanks!

Thanks for the responses.

I've searched the site but have not found any diagrams/photos. If there is only one vacuum line, does it come off the airbox?

Thanks again!:waving:

P.S. I'd buy the manual, but I'm fixing him up to sell so don't want to spend the money for it. Yep, "tight as a tick"!

If your 83 is like my 82, there are two breather hoses that attach to the air box. They are located in the lower back corners of the air box, one on the left side, the other on the right. (Duh).

I found that the one on the right is a little more difficult to hook up because the cables tend to be in the way. Put the air box part way in with the back side down at a 45° angle. Then get the two hoses on the air box oriented correctly, and then push the front end down. There may be cables and wires over the plenum that you have to move aside. And don't forget to install the rubber gasket on top of the plenum.

Then just hook up the hoses; left side hooks to a large nipple and the right side hooks to another hose.

Hope this helps.

This could have been stated more clearly: I was assuming that the hoses were still attached to the air box, which is how I take the box off. You have to push the hoses around a little before you can get the box to sit down correctly in place.

(And thank you, trashtruck, for your PM)
