Hi y,all. I am trying to see what people are using to replace the bag gaskets.
Mine are gone. Also for the [ dont know the name for them] rubber things that hold the side covers on. Three to a cover, where to get them? I did see a thing to search Bike Bandit, but could not find them on there web site. Thanks for any and all help. Dan:?

The thingies that hold the side cover on are called grommets
Honda part numbers are
83551-300-000 for the top ones
83551-376-000 for the bottom ones

As Bikebandit uses their own part numbers not Honda part numbers I no longer go there in search of OEM parts. :lash:

For the saddlebag seals I have no idea what to use.
On my 82 1100 I took my old weather stripping to junk yard a found a car door weather strip close to the same profile that worked
Mine need the seals replaced also, maybe some soft rubber tubing from the local farm and home store, or I wonder if vacuum line would work. Either one should provide a good seal.
I used the foam rubber strips that have sticky on one side ,I trimmed it to the width I needed, I thought it looked clean and worked for me good luck with whatever you use. BTW I found it at wal-mart,I'm thinking it was called weather stripping
I used some rubber edge seal from McMaster-Carr part number 8507K54, 10 ft. will do it with a tad left over. I think with shipping it was about $16.

seal

I found that an RV parts house has different size rubber that i used I took a piece and cut it down the middle and then took some gasket glue and put on the inside of the rubber and placed it over the lip if the bag and made a tight seal. i bought it off of ebay cheap.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions ,I was trying to come up with something but everything I wanted to try was too thick. Thanks again Dan:bow:
You can still get them from Mother Honda. You will need to buy for a 82 GL1100I. You get them here http://www.dgy.com/oempartfinder.ht...630/SADDLEBAG/GL1100I-82-A/2Y14463AF14463A42C

Number 14 and 15 about $30 each

Yep those guys have every part ever made for every Honda ever built.
Of course it might take them a decade of nine to find the part you want in their two block square ten story warehouse.:ROFL:

On the other hand maybe they're just a store front ordering from Honda and to lazy to update their parts list.:?

I use them all the time. It normally takes a week to a week and a half to get my parts. They also do have some of the lowest prices for factory OEM parts.
