Well now with a few days of warm weather i can start to do some work on my new 83 1100A. What I have found is the rear tire is rubbing on the RIGHT HAND SIDE and look to be the drive shaft area towards the front. Looking in the manual I dont see any adjustment and there is no side play and everything seems tight.

HELP PLEASE

check your tire size. It should be a 140/90-16 . Theres not a lot ofextra room . I run a wider tire and did make a spacer to move the wheel to the left .

I'm guessing it's an E2.



I had the correct size of E2 do that on my 1200. Didn't find anything wrong with the bike - the raised letters just kissed the swingarm enough to make a faint noise.



Put an E3 on - and all better. I've heard of other folks having the same issues with E2s as well. A 1200 guy PM'd me about it last week - after finding my old thread about it.
