Just for future information. The front forks on an 83 Aspencade are different from the Interstate and Standard model. The Aspendade mount for the left brake is 1/100 thinner to allow the room for the vented disc brake.

On later models the anti dive TRAC system was only on one fork leg on the Interstate. Is that true also with the '83?

I have an 86 interstate and it has TRAC on both front forks.

No, both forks on the '83. Which later models are you refering to? Doesn't sound true, makes no sense to have TRAC on one fork only.

One more for future reference. I bought a set of forks from an 82 Aspencade, and the brake caliper mounts were different from my 83 Interstate. I had to have the tubes removed and swapped into my old 83 lowers. The brake caliper mounts were offset to the outside about 1/8 inch, making it impossible to seat the mounts over the rotors. Go figure. They LOOKED exactly the same, but the main caliper mounting bracket ears were set outward just a tad more than the 83.

That's okay though...I needed to rebuild those anyway. :) Besides, got a set of Progressives installed, too. :)
