'84 GL 1200 I Gasket Sets A & B. What's included?
I'm replacing the crankshaft, so all the gaskets & 'O' rings must be replaced.

• What does each Gasket Set A & B include, or not include?
• Opinion of OEM vs Aftermarket sets
• Who is best / least expensive to buy from & will ship to Canada?
• What spray paint to use on engine, original color preferred.

Hi there Uncle A.

The gasket kits will not generally include any seals such as the cam or crankseals.

Mother Honda likes to squeeze us for all its' worth..:whip:

I can look to see what I used when doing my restore of the 85 a few winters earlier and post the answer later.

The best area to confirm the parts/gaskets included is the www.HDLparts.com

Best prices as well if you're not in a hurry.

Thanks for the reply, Mr. Fix It. That would be great if you could look those parts up that you had used. I haven't dealt with suppliers in the U.S., but finding them in Canada isn't as easy as I had hoped. Some don't bother to reply at all.

The last dealership I dealt with charged 22% over retail, for parts as I later found out. I may as well lose a few cents on the dollar and order parts in the States.

I would like to be sure I have all my parts before hand when I reassemble the engine. I ordered a used crankshaft from Super Sport Motorcycle Works in B.C. ([email protected]) and was impressed with their service and communications.

Any other sources and part #s are appreciated.

Okay!

The paint I found that was a real close match is Dupli Color Engine Enamel - Aluminum DE1615 High Heat.

It is so close to the Factory colour, it dries very nicely with a great coverage for a low price.
