Hello everyone, I am in the process of rebuilding my GL1200 waterpump. I have the seal kits and the new bearings and the mechanical seal for the pump. Everything fits perfectly except the mechanical seal. The ceramic seal fits inside the impeller but the seat that goes into the pump itself is too small. Does anyone know which is the correct mechanical seal that is required for the 84 GL1200 waterpump that has the metal impeller. The seal that is mentioned throughout this forum (19217-657-023) (CR125R) is not the correct size. I need some help, Thanks

The main pump seal Jim? What size is the one you have? I overhauled one a couple of years ago and the part number was different, my notes say 91207-580-003 and seal size 10 x 25 x 7.

Thanks Jason for the reply, I am talking about the waterpump mechanical seal not the oil pump seal. The mechanical seal I am talking about goes between the waterpump impeller and the pump itself. I am posting pictures of what I need.

I have the new bearings that goes inside the pump. Here is another picture of the other side of the mechanical seal.

Would you mind going into more detail about the rebuild and parts. I've not found a rebuild kit, but I do have the gasket kit on order already from partsnmore. I found oil leaking from the weep hole. So, among a few other things over the next week or two, this is high on the list.

Thanks Jim,

Jeremy

When you say gasket kit do you mean whole engine or water pump only?

Here is a water pump gasket & seal kit;

There might be others that have a bearing in them too. Do a goggle search
