85 Aspencade misfire

Hello all, am new member, and the site seem to be the place for gold-wingnuts. My 85 Aspencade has two odd problems
1- Starting from full stop before I reach 2000 rpm it has a strange little vibration as if it would be in too high of a gear for the speed. As soon as I hit 2100+ it runs smooth.
2- While riding it misfires, sometimes three four times a day, sometime not for several days.
Any words of wisdom?
I am at a loss:gunhead:

Welcome to the forum Pacal!

Have you done anything to your wing like sinc the carbs, run sae foam through your fuel system etc?

is there any noise accociated with the vibration?

when you pull away from a stop, what rpm do you bring it to as you release the clutch?

which oil are you running & have you tried other brands?

The reason I ask this is because your clutches use the engine oil to run smooth & some wings respond badly to the wrong brand of oil.

Try delo 400 from Wal-mart or rotella & see if that makes any difference!

Occasional missfire, check the plug wires and boots. Probably best to just replace the whole 25 year old mess.
