Just cleaned my carbs and when I put them back in the fuel pump won't run. It is a pulse type pump can it be jump with 12 volts or will it fry it, the pump is a electro magnet with a bellows that causes a pulse. It wont make a sound when the bike is running I fill the carbs by adding fuel through the fuel line on the discharge side with a large syringe and the bike runs but the pump does not put out any fuel at all.
I took the pump off and touched the leads with power proper + and - conections nothing should it click like a celeniod on a ford truck.
any ideas on this hard to get parts way out in the Atlantic
thanks guys

The fuel pump will only operate while the engine is running. I don't know about direct wiring it. I got my replacement used thru E Bay i think i got it for $60 including the relay. My pump will make a clicking sound when it cannot pump fuel as when i turn off the petcock when i'm putting her away.

Good Luck Jim
