Thanks to everyone for the replys to my previous post (trans noise).



Well, I've managed to put some miles on the bike. It runs very well but it's running rich.



Pulled the plugs and all are a dark reddish/ brown, not the tan/greyish I'd like to see.

At idle I can smell it as well.

Since it's the same on all plugs, I'm not sure if it's carburation or not. There seems to be some kind of air system on the bike that I'm not familiar with (small chrome tubes next to the intake runners).



When I roll out of the throttle, I get some "burbles" out of the pipes, not sure what that is from yet either, and again you can smell that it's rich.



Other than that, I love the ride...smooth and comfy.



Any ideas where to start would be appreciated.

hi bart iam not up to speed on the 1200 but have you looked at the airfilter if its blocked your bike will run rich

Check that the choke is not staying on.

Thought of that also, pulled it to check it and it's as clean as a whistle...



My thought is that some thing else (besides carbs) might be causing this. These chrome tubes next to the runners are for something, just don't know what.



Some kind of air bypass?

AsI mentioned, all four plugs look the same..dark but not black.

how long did the bike sit before you started riding it? Dare I say Seafoam...put a can in the tank on fill upand run the bike till 1/4 tank. I bet $1 it will help if not solve the problem.
