This is in reference to thread I submitted yesterday '85 1200A Engine Shuts Down-Sometimes...
I'm going thru things and found this hanging by the connector behind the battery. For my process of elimination .... what is this. I could not find it in any of my manuals. Thank you....

That is the turn light cancel module thing a momboby. :)
No, sorry, that's the brake/tail lamp sensor. Verify, unplug and the rear tail lights won't work.
Rear tail lights? :?
As opposed to the front tail lights.....:ROFL:

Now I have to go check but I have to say I think you are probably right seeing it is located in the rear of the bike. Is the cancel part of the flasher on the 1200's??

Yes. The real give away is the 84 is the only model with a control unit. The '85 and later are all incorporated into the steering neck assy.
