I just put my old solenoid back on the bike and this gave me power at the accessories/light/fan through the turning of the ignition key. Hope I am back on track and just picked up a used solenoid that is junk. Time to take it back tomorrow. Thanks for your help. I will keep you posted. Thanks Don.

Went back to shop and got new solenoid. I continue to receive power at ignintion which is good but I get nothing passing through solenoid. 30 amp fuse on solenoid does show power passing through it.
Here is a picture of the solenoid that I have on my bike, not actual but looks identical.
Thanks,
Greg

Some aftermarket solenoids are wired differently from the original so even if the connector fits it will not work unless you rewire it.

Once more.
Get your ohmmeter. The operating coil of the solenoid will have a specific resistance. Generally around 20-40 ohms. The two spade terminals that show continuity WITH a resistance value are the leads for the starter switch and ground. Y/R. G/R

Thanks for your help again guys. I must reinterate that I am not good with electronics on low volt systems. I do have a tester but do not understand it all that well. I understand Ohms are resistance and not good right? I can check for voltage easy enough though.
My understanding is that the Yellow/red wire runs to the start button and the green/red is the ground. ??
So in my mind the y/r wire caries voltage to start button and the G/R wire must be bringing power back to solenoid and delivers it to the starter terminal???? Am I correct in my thinking?
Thanks

No. When the key is on, and the starter button is pushed, you get power on the y/r from the starter button. The g/r finds ground.
