when installing the slides, you have to align the little tab with the cutout in the housing, this appears to be a vacumn port, is it or is it not? if it is how can you tell if it is plugged?

When you say plugged, do you mean blocked? Anyway if we are talkiong about the same thing, it's not a vacuum port but a vent. I can't see how it would get blocked. BTW, welcome to the forum. :waving:

pooldeeznuttz , no, that is not a vacuum port. I believe that little hole in the alignment tab is part of the manufacturing process. The vacuum port (actually just a hole) is in the slide body itself.

Twisty is right, the hole in the slider is the vacuum. Jason is probably thinking about further up where the rubber ring sits.
