I'm working on a 86 GL1200A. Rebuilt the carbs, synced them and it runs great till you are twisting the thottle hard then there is a miss. Changed fuel filter, checked vac hoses, re-synced checked, no help. I'll be checking the vacuum slides this afternoon but they looked good when I had the carbs apart and moved smoothly in the carb bores.

Any ideas?

I'll looked them over again but didn't see anything. This only happens during hard acceleration (hard throttle twist above 4k RPM.) Thanksfor the suggestion.

i am thinking there is a resistor in the spark plug boot. i wonder if one of them is dirty or if it is breaking down under heavy load. Dont hold me to this, its just a thought, at my age any thought is suspect. :smiler: walkabout
