I have an '86 GL1200 Asp. with a bad speed sensor. Neither the speedometer or the self canceling turn signals work. Does anyone out there know if these are repairable? I had a used one from an '84 that I am redoing, but found that there are three different part numbers throughout the four years of the 1200s. The sensor from the '84 works fine but the speed reading is not correct (reads faster than actual speed). Naturally these are no longer available through Honda. If anyone out there has a good sensor from an '85 or '86, I'd be interested.

1. Are you sure it's the sensor and not the gear on the wheel that's turns the sensor? You need to make sure.

2. I believe they all (1200's) show faster than actual speed.

3. I believe there may be a couple types of connectors but you can just cut the connector end off and swap the connectors/plugs.

Someone will be along and verify my info. Good Luck

Hello, not sure bout sensor but my speedometer cable went bad and the auto cancelling turn off quit working, changed the speedometer cable and all works fine again.
