86 Wing Interstate charging problems

Hi All:

I would like to know where the Ziener Diode is on my 86 Interstate?

Being an old disabled tool and die maker isn't bad when you find a site like this one.

I have found that information saves time and a lot of pain.

I read through most of the posted info. for my problem and the Ziener might

be what I need, the system still charges to 13.6 volts even with one highvoltage

lead off. --At 3000rpms that is.

I started working with autos at my dads shop in 1950 at the tender age of 6,

so I'm fairly knowledgeable with all things mechanical.

Thanks Everyone, Fran

The only zener diode I am aware of is the one in the voltage regulator/rectifier. The VR is located under the false tank on the left side.

Is one of your stator leads burnt? You may want to do a search for posts about the three yellow wires and how most folks have fixed these problem wires.

Oh, by the way, welcome to the site!
