GL1800 or 1500?? I don't know much about the GL1800, but on the 1500 you don't need to change any fuses for an alternator upgrade.
What bike do you have. If it's a 1500 that's stock.

Did you get the Compufire 90A alternator?
The Compufire comes with 2 new 55A dog bone fuses with longer screws and washers to put a space between the fuses which makes it a 110A fuse. And yes you do need that protective barrier for your bike's wiring safety.

Hi Kberry

Here is a utube video concerning the installation of one of those K....hope it helps.

Just used the video to confirm which way the compufire goes in, great video, as always this site is the place to find this stuff.

Where's a good place to get an alternator (that puts out 90 AMP) for a 1992 Goldwing 1500SE? Or does anyone have one that works good they wanna get rid of?

I'm in Canada

Why do you feel you need a 90A alternator?:?

As has been mentioned elsewhere your 55A fuse is to protect the wiring on your bike. Double it to 110A and a short could burn the bike wiring before it blows the fuses.
