91 GL 1500 TAPE PLAYER: Jammed

:?I changed the tape recently ( I always have a look to make sure the tape is wound tight on the spindles) and after putting the tape in/closing the "door" the sound didn't come on. I pressed the SEARCH button to get it to rewind but instead of getting the flashing L "OR" R arrow, I got BOTH of the ARROWS at the same time, pointing at each other.

Tape wont play, tape wont eject, "door" won't open, just the DOUBLE FLASHING indicators.

Radio functions all work fine.

I have the OEM Service manual for the bike but there isn't really any info in there on this problem. Searched the previous Msgs looking for TAPE PLAYER, JAMMED TAPE, STEREO..etc but couldn't fine anything there. I must be the FIRST to eexperience this , right ? ;-)

BTW, I did finally manage to get the "door" open and can see the tape in there. Its dropped down in the PLAY position and doesn't want to come out (drive spindles engaged, I assume)

I'm guessing but the first step probably reads: Remove stereo from bike...
