G'evening gentlemen, I'm a newbie to this forum, but an a veteran rider. I have had my dream bike for almost two years now. Gone thru a full set of tires without a single problem until now. I ride about 75 - 80 miles round trip to work depending on which route I take. Have been every day for the last year and a half. It was a great day, sunny and warm. About thirty minutes into my 40 min ride, I was doing about 75 - 80mph when she quit running. There wasn't any hiccup or stumble, she just quit. Everything electrically was operational. I coasted to a stop, took it outta gear and tried to restart her. It just turned over. There wasn't any tease firing, or anything indicating it wanted to start. Nothing. Got her home, did some tests found the ECM didn't have voltage coming in, and the coils were outta spec on the secondary side. I be replaced all three and the ECM. No joy. What I hadn't noticed was the fuel pump wasn't running throughout my tests. But there's 10 + volts feeding into it. If I apply power to the unit it'll run. But it won't when is connected. But this won't effect the no spark symptom. So now I have no fuel AND no spark. I am running outta options and hair. ...
Oh, my kill switch is working fine but my cruise control active light does come on for about three seconds then goes off work the temp light. It won't come back on even if I power up the cruise control. Thanks, Kurt

Bank angle sensor seems like a good start, but the symptoms should go away with a recycle of the ignition.
Could be the sensor has really fried, or maybe a PO bypassed the sensor and that bypass has failed.

BTW Trollman, I moved this thread to the Tech Forum where the 'lectrical folks will see it.

If the BAS is bad it will not crank. Since the cruise light will not stay on with the switch on it's probably the kill switch.

As DaveO said, probably the kill switch.
Mike, I communicated back/forth a couple times with him. His original post that said "ECM didn't have power coming in" was correct.

I sent him the "voltage path flow" from the Battery all the way through to the ECM and Ignition Coils. I had him check for power at the appropriate locations.

The Kill switch was good but (it doesn't work too good with no input power)...!

Relay's don't work too good with dirty/contaminated contacts. Clean tight contacts work good.

He checked all fuses, power on all except # 7 Parking Fuse. I explained why.

I am glad he is back running again.

Hope he doesn't mind my response to the Forum.....

BTW....I am aware that I have been "accused" of being a "Bad Person" by one member on this Forum That's ok, I can handle it. They don't really know me...... .

Dave,
I never heard any bad things about you. It just seems to me that at times you might take things too personal. I feel the idea of the forum as being a think tank where we bang things back and forth until we reach the best answer we can. Sometimes I feel like I am wrong more than right but that is how I learn. I don't take it personal even if I get hoorahed a little. As I have said before I'm not usually right but I tend to get a lot of conversations started.
If you don't share with the forum only one person learns. I know DaveO said that before and I have to say I agree.
Why not stick around and add to the conversation both right or wrong. best idea or somthing less that the best. We can learn from you and you from us. If you ever put diesels in your bikes you will be right in my wheelhouse. 😎

I'm always right. I'm also very handsome, rich and a complete genius.

But I still don't know what was wrong Trollman's bike.

What did the problem turn out to be?

it was 42*F this morning and raining, fog along both sides of the highway to my doctor's appt.

I drove at 55 mph, and that was too fast.....
I was passed by people running at least 70 mph, if not more?

I'm thinking the ignition/cruise relay was bad. It being bad would cause all the symptoms that he had.
