Our bikes used to operate identically temp wise. Mine got really hot, in the red zone, several years back in shi(t)cago. Mine takes longer to warm up, once hot halfwayon the gage, it takes much longer to cool down. New Tstat was checked for operation and was okay before install. Any ideas? I will replace the stat with an automotive stat as soon as someone gives me the cross refernce number. I have more things I've done or am doing and they will follow soon....mommas on her way home to go shopping. Radiators are soking in simple green right now and the existing stat was checked in water with a thermometer. Don't like the way it acted. To long to open it seemed. Does the baffle in the thermostat housing go a certain way in relation to the stat? TIA, Rick.
