99 GL1500 breather drain hoses on left side?

1193 Views 5 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  1potter1
I suspect one of my air breather drain hoses may not be attached.
After a ride I get a little wet gunk out of one my drain hose, but the other one is clean as a whistle.
I do notice a very small amount of wet gunk (no fuel smell) on top of the left side of engine that comes back after I wipe it off after a ride?
I'm probably a little OCD on maintenance and cleaning because I do travel a lot on my scooters.
Anyone have a similar experience?
What's the easy way to get a visual and reattach these hoses if needed?
Thx

Are the plugs in the bottom ends of the hoses?

Plugs are in, but I remove to drain. I usually get about a inch of fluid build up only in one of tubes.
That's about normal between oil changes.
If the hose is detached, then you should be able to remove it with a light pull... as it merely runs up and connects to either the Air Cleaner Housing (Item-2), or the Storage Box(Item#25).

If it is detached then you'll have to remove the lower half of the Housing, in order to access either location.

Thx, I'll see if I can feel resistance. The very little bit of fluid I see on the top of the engine seems to be the same crankcase sludge?
