Well its our first nice day of spring here in KC. Everybody showed up at the house to wake me up and go on a cruise.. I should have stayed in bed. I may have been a little hungover, but that was no reason for my whole day to go to crap. Went down to start the bike to find that the battery (crap lead acid) let go of the ghost. Then while trying to jump it the solenoid shot it. So not to let the day go there, I got my trusty screw driver and jumped it. Bingo, off to ride. Not 10mi in we stopped for gas, to find my battery wouldnt hold a charge and another friends ride lost its battery too. Needless to say we broke off and headed back, met up with another friend who was in route with some jumper cables, just in case. Pulled off and enjoyed a smoke when my solenoid decided it wouldn't jump anymore. Roll started it and got home. Later thought we would go for a four wheeler ride only to find that those batteries were dead too, and then when checking the coolant on my racer i busted a hole in the bottle. I quit!
I have been there and done that, some days it pays to stay in bed. It seems we always ignore that first sign of trouble but at the second one we should start paying attention.
November 1st I parked my 82, set it on the centerstand turned off the gas, and let it idle till it quit. put on a small tender. Jan 15ish i fired it up and let it warm up. March 1st same thing. MArch 31st, added 3 gallons fresh gas, and pushed itoutside, stuck the new plate sticker on.
Not a chance. all 3 brakes are stuck. engine showed no desire to fire once. setting
outside, brakes locked and wont start.
