A question to naked wing riders.

Having coffee with my dad and uncle over the weekend, led to a question that I didn't have an answer to and piqued my curiosity as well.

On my 1100 and 1200, my average gas mileage is about 42-44 mpg.

Is there any significant change in mileage without the fairing and side bags?

Is seems without the weight and wind resistance that there should be an appreciable difference.

I get about 42-44 mpg on my standard, have a National windshield and the Honda trunk. With my sidecar installed I get 30-33 mpg. As a standard it almost feels sporty compared to the Interstate it once was!
I rode nekkid once and got a nasty sunburn in place that the sun normally doesn't shine on once, but I usually don't ride nekkid, would get some nasty road rash in places that it might hurt if I crashed......wait you meant the nekkis wing.....I get the same average 40 mpg on the 1000 and the 1100. Really depends on how hard I'm twisting the throttle. The 1000 has seen as low as 30 mpg but the speeds were significantly higher than the speed limit. I dont ride the 1100 like that so it stays in the 40 mpg range. Wouldn't do any good to compare the 1200 sidecar rig, it usually 30-35 mpg depending on the wind.
My 83I got considerably better mileage than my 82 std. does. I think the fairing helps cut the wind better than a body does. I do have a short fairing shield on the std. but I still catch a lot of wind.
As much as I love Naked I have to agree with you DaveO430
