My company helps to sponsor an AMA racing bike and there is a race scheduled this weekend at Road America at Elkhart Lake, WI.

They have a CBR 1000 racing bike set up for 2-up rides and I went up there on Thursday and took a ride on it.

Road America is one of the longest tracks in the country, about 4.2 miles with 14 curves. We got up over 160 on the long straight-aways, and did the whole 4.2 miles in about 2 minutes and 15 seconds.

It was quite a ride. I didn't quite get to drag a knee, but it was very close a couple of times.

While that was an exciting 4 mile ride, I've done 400 mile rides on the wing and I wasn't that ready to get off. I'd absolutely never trade.

I would much rather have driven it myself, but there's no way I would have beaten that time (at least not on the first lap). It was a neat experience though.
