Permatex Rust Dissolver Gel/brass bristle brush. Say that three times fast. Actually made it fun. And Yanney, Dennis and the rest thanks again for the tip on how to get them off. Now, how do I get them back on?:cooldevil:

Does any one know where I can pick up some of that Permatex Rust Dissolver Gel, (that was hard enough to type once, I really don't want to try saying it three times fast). Thanks in advance for the help.

I saw several posts on the net about steel versus brass wool. So many conflicting posts, I decided to stay quiet.

But tiny pieces of steel wool does rust too! And I would tend to think brass wool is not so rough on soft chrome..

Of course 3M makes Scotch-Brite pads in different "grits" too. I'd rather use them if I could find them.

So you bringing that stuff up here to Lake E.? I've got a few you can practice on as well - just to be sure you're doing it right! :) ;)

Yep, steel wool will, and can remove the chrome enough to let rust happen, Brass is a better choice. Try the MR Clean white Eraser, you'll need a few because they come apart quick. But will not harm the chrome.
