I installed the same kit on my GL1200:

I did not like the silicon yellow wires so I ordered solid 7 mm cut-to-length 28" copper wire set with boots from Bitterend Old School Choppers.

Did your 1200 have a white block resistor at the coils? 1.5 ohm? If so, did you install it with the new coils?

On the boots you installed, did you get ones with resistors in them? I believe solid copper would offer no resistance. I know my boots had 5k ohm resistors in them and no resistance in the wires themselves.

No I don't have any block resistor at the coils but I do have 5 k ohm resistors factory installed in the boots.
