I have been using .5 ohm dodge neon coils on 1100s with no ballast and no problems but it won't hurt to leave the stock resistor inline and if you get strong ignition it makes things easier on the ignitors. The 10k wires should be OK too but if you use the stock 5K plug connectors get solid core wire.
