Adding bolt on trike kit for a 82 GL1100

Yes it makes the steering lighter, you may have problems finding a kit for that old a bike as you need long top nuts as the forks need to be effectively longer.
You could try any of the trike manufacturers to see if they have old stock or trawl ebay.
Dont expect it cheap either
