Adjusting the GL1000 carbs

Hi everyone, I have a gl1000 I have had 1100 carbs built for it, what, what kind of tool do you use to get ot the adjustment screws to turn them for adjustment? and do i need to buy some kind of meter to do this?

To get the best adjustment you need a tool called colortune. it is basically a sparkplug with a window, you tune up the mixure to get the best fire color.

if you go for the manuals procedure, you will need a tach that will read 50 rpm changes. its called idle drop procedure.

on the 1100 carbs the pilot screw has a limiter cap, you gonna do the adjustments without it. its a pita to take it off, you need some heat to soften the glue.

I bought an adjustment tool from JC Whitney but apparantly they don't have it anymore. It is a motion pro mixture adjustment tool.

I did find the tool direct from Motion Pro.
