i want to hear the radio - & use the intercom system -

there is so much stuff out there - can someone tell me just what i need & where is the best place to order it from

Thanks - tom

I only have experience with J & M headsets and Air Rider headsets. While J & M offers many different kinds/levels of head sets, Air Rider only offers one headset which is "top of the line".

I have been using the Air Rider headsets for the past 2 1/2 years with good performance and prefer them over the J & M brand. I find them to have better clarity, sound level and such. But that's just my personal opinion.

Others may be able to provide input about other good brands of headsets.

Depending on your checkbook, You might look at the for sale ads in GWRRA online or Ebay. J&M often sell for around $75 there. I'm not familiar with Air Rider, but have heard good things about them. Congrats on the bike, especially in CA!! Very short if any winters there.

DBohrer, what is that bike? Looks like a pristine BSA or Triumph.

At the start of this season, I bought my 1st ever headset and now wonder why I didn't buy one earlier. :?

I went with the cheapest J&M headset, from Wingstuff.com (located in CA)that cost $72.99

Now I can listen to my music as loud as I want, without the distortion, or disturbing others 'tranquility'. :cooldevil:

It is a '67 BSA Royal Star. All original (never restored) and runs great. They are only original once but can be restored a hundred times........!!

You should see my brothers '60 BSA Super Rocket, it's all original and like new. Sorry I don't have any pictures of it.

Both bikes been in the family since new.

My '99 SE is the same color as yours, it just turned 160,000 miles.

My wife and I had J&M headsets for years and continued to have repeated failure. It was the lower cord once, then the headset itself, then loose connections where one speaker would quit then finally the mic gave out.

I bought a edsets and haven't looked back since. It's as easy to install as a J&M and the sound quality is much better. I highly advise you check them out.
