I've got an issue with a '93 GL1500 with a three year old Champion trike kit installed. The original Honda alternator went bad, so I ordered an aftermarket "High Output" as a replacement. The problem is, the front of the trike swingarm is much beefier than the stock swingarm and it doesn't allow enough room for the new alternator. Has anyone run into this, and how did you resolve the issue? Ideally what I'm looking for is a reliable , high output alternator that is smaller in size than the original Honda unit. Any insite would be welcomed!

3rdWHEELWINGER.....the aftermarket alternators are really a tight fit going in, but they will go in with a little holding your breath, and prayer.....the compu-fire will even go in. the stuff you talk about (beefier stuff, etc.) should not make the kind of difference in whether it goes or not. they look like they won't go, but they will. good luck.
